Events in 2012

With everything for our final event for 2011 – Santa in the Woods, just being put away, we are already looking forward to 2012.

You can find information about forthcoming events, and regular meetings and volunteering on our website calendar.  An events calendar can also be printed off from our downloads page.

The year starts with the Warley Woods Pacers and their Hangover Run – now a firm part of the calendar and in its fifth year.  It is a 5km social run on 1st January – warm up at 10am at the Pavilion.  Not quite ready for such an early run after the festivities, well join the Pacers on their regular Saturday morning session instead.

There are currently 21 events in the calendar for next year.  All of the regulars are there – Easter Egg Roll (April), The Picnic (July), All About Dogs (September) Halloween (October) and Santa (December).  We will also be having a theatre performance again from Heartbreak (May) – this time it is Much Ado About Nothing, sponsored again by Derek Spires Estate Agents.  Regular nature events, like the bird and bat walks will be happening again (January and August), along with a tree walk (May), a fungi identification walk (October) and a repeat of the lovely “How to Identify Birds” day (May) .  New for this year will be Star Gazing – an evening with experts with telescopes on Sunday February 12th 6-9pm (warm drinks available throughout).

Our two fundraisers will also be happening again – the Walk for the Woods and the Quiz and perhaps a wine tasting evening too.  There will also be some training and sharing events linked to our Oral History Project.

We hope that there really is something for everyone in 201.
