Great news about the fountain. Following the vandalism the trustees decided to replace the tiles with cedar shingles. John Wormald and Arthur Ward have set about cutting and fixing the shingles and although we are waiting for more to be delivered, the fountain roof is again beginning to look wonderful. Thanks to everyone who gave money to help us with this project, and thanks to Arthur and John for all their skilled work. In case you think all the jobs done by volunteers are as rewarding as retiling the fountain—think again! Last Sunday two of the volunteers spent the morning with their hands down the drains in the car park clearing out the rubbish that gets trapped in them. A thoroughly smelly and unpleasant job, but surprisingly Steve Atkinson and Zoe King seemed to enjoy themselves.
Santa is in the Woods on the weekend of December 8th/9th. On Saturday we are again having Simply Santa where you can book a time for your child(ren) to come to Santa’s grotto. Bookings are from 1 pm until 4 pm and can be made by ringing the office (420 1061). On Sunday 9th Santa will be coming through the Woods on his sleigh and will again be in his grotto. There will also be lots more going on including carol singing, food, tombola, raffle etc. Children will have to queue and take their turn to see Santa on Sunday. His sleigh will be leaving the fountain at 4 pm and he’ll make his way to the Pavilion. Everybody welcome. If you have any tombola prizes that we could use at this event please drop them in to the office or shop in the next couple of weeks. Thank you.

Next year’s Events Calendar is nearly complete and will be available in December. Just one thing to whet your appetite: Theatre in the Woods will be on Sunday afternoon, June 16th, and will be a performance of Alice in Wonderland. The theatre company will want to involve some of the local children so watch out for more details.
