Just a reminder for those of you who read this before November 15th is the date of our annual fundraising quiz. This takes place at St Hilda’s church hall and starts at 7.30. Teams of up to 6 people, but if you don’t have a full team you can join with others. There will be snacks available to buy, and tea and coffee. Bring your own alcohol. All profits go to support the work of the Trust. Then on Sunday November 17th there will be our Stargazing event. This takes place at and outside the Pavilion and is from 6-9 pm. Come any time and look at the stars through the telescopes and watch on the screen which will be set up in the Pavilion.
How about an unusual Christmas present? Adopt a tree for a friend or family member. Cost is £25 for a year and you will know that the money will go towards supporting the Woods. Come to the shop any time and choose your tree!
Santa will be in the Woods again on December 7th and 8th. On 7th he will be in his grotto in the Pavilion and you can book for the children to see him. Ring 429 2440 to book a time. On Sunday 8th Santa will be coming on his sleigh through the Woods. Meet him at the fountain at 4 pm and follow him through the woods to his grotto in the Pavilion. On both days there will be festive specials in the café and Christmassy crafts for children, and on Sunday there will be additional activities outside as well. If you have any festive items for the tombola at the Sunday event please drop them in to the office. They will be much appreciated.
Ever thought of making your own Christmas tree and Christmas decorations? On Saturday November 30th from 11 am to 1 pm Mick Guy, one of our volunteers, will be making origami trees and decorations. There will be a small charge and this will go to the Trust. Just turn up on the day at the Pavilion and learn a new skill. Buying Christmas presents online? Many companies give a %age donation to charity—and this can be Warley Woods Community Trust! Go to the Give as you Live website www.giveasyoulive.com and follow the links. Enter Warley Woods Community Trust as your charity when asked.
Our Christmas Cards are now on sale in the shop. These are new designs for this year so come along and have a look.
