We are very pleased to be able to announce the launch of Warley Woof. This is a new project designed to bring the Community Trust and the many dog walkers at Warley Woods closer together, for the benefit of everyone who uses the park.
The project will run until March 2015 and involves a partnership with Warley and District Dog Training Club who will be running advice and group dog walking training sessions. Dog walkers will be encouraged to join the Warley Woof initiative by paying a small fee for their pets to be included on the park’s Dog Log. They will get newsletters, invites to events and seminars in return. All members will get a special poo bag holder for their dog’s lead which it is hoped will help dog walkers recognise others who are involved and feel part of a special group at Warley Woods.
The first event of the project will be a special seminar day on Saturday 28th June at the Pavilion, Warley Woods led by Hannah Malloy of Pawfect Dogsense. If people would like to learn more about different methods of dog training and get advice in dog behaviour, then they can come to sessions in the morning (10am – 12pm) or afternoon (2pm- 4pm) free of charge. They just need to book a place on 012 429 2440.
The project also has a special advice leaflet which will be given to dog walkers by other walkers who have already got involved.
We are really pleased that we are in a position to launch Warley Woof with this special event with Hannah. We are really hoping that the initiative will help bring the Trust into contact with many more owners who use Warley Woods to walk their dogs, in a very positive way. Together we will be able to make the Woods an even better place for everyone who visits.
The project has been made possible thanks to Award for All Lottery Funding.
