Warley Woods wins Green Flag for 7th time

Warley Woods is one of the very best in the UK – and that’s official.  It is among a record-breaking 1,582 parks and green spaces that have been awarded a prestigious Green Flag Award.  The award, handed out by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces across the country. A Green Flag flying overhead is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.

We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for the seventh year running from Keep Britain Tidy.  This Award recognises and highlights that local people are benefitting from a green space of the very highest quality.  The Community Trust has been managing the site for 11 years now and everyone at the Community Trust is very proud of our track record of high standards.

International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: “We are delighted to be celebrating another record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award scheme. All the flags flying this year are a testament to the efforts of the thousands of men and women, both staff and volunteers, who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award.”

We will be proudly flying our new 2015-16 Green Flags over the Pavilion on Lightwoods Hill and at Abbey Road shortly.
