Do you want to be a Trustee ?

We have a number of trustees who have been with us from the start, along with people who have become involved more recently. We always need new people to join us, with new ideas and strengths.

Being a trustee with Warley Woods Community Trust requires more time than just one meeting each month. We have very few staff so as a trustee you will probably end up helping in whatever way you can depending on your skills and experience.

We have our board meetings on the 2nd Thursday of each month, but trustees are usually involved in another committee or project group and will perhaps have another one or two meetings each month. These are usually evenings or can be planned to work round your commitments.

The amount of time you put in is largely up to you but it will be at least 10 hours a month over the next couple of years and can be a lot more if you are willing and able. We are new to everything at present so we have to put in additional effort initially, and have the challenge of delivering the restoration project under HLF funding by Dec 2007.

As a charity trustee of a limited company you have the responsibility of ensuring the business is run effectively and developing the strategy for WWCT and reviewing its performance against the aims and objectives.

You will need to have relevant experience to enable you to plan, monitor, review, input ideas, problem solve, access funding etc. to help us to develop and deliver the vision. You will also be an ambassador for the trust and able to help us promote our aims and link with potential partners and across the community.

We particularly need expertise in fundraising and income generation, education, people with special needs, young people, marketing, consultation, publicity, events, business (park) management, contract management, legal, health and safety, insurance and general management skills. If you have any of these and can help us but do not want to be a trustee you can be involved as a specialist adviser.

If you are interested please can you submit a brief resume of why you want to be a trustee or adviser and the skills or experience you have to help us in between 200-500 words. We would prefer you to submit this by e mail on admin@warleywoods.org.uk. You are welcome to arrange to attend a board meeting to see first hand what might be involved.
