Warley Woods Community Trust patron Dame Julie Walters recently described how during her childhood in Bearwood Warley Woods was her ‘sanctuary’ and ‘magical’ and ‘mysterious’.  We know that Warley Woods has been a sanctuary for many people during this unique moment in history.

‘Lockdown Memories’ aims to capture the story of life on lockdown from a community perspective. So when future generations look back at this historically significant moment, they will understand the positive role played by Warley Woods for our community during the global pandemic.

So please share your memories of the woods during the lockdown this spring and summer. Tell us how the physical spaces of Warley Woods have helped you, your family, your friends to cope with all the uncertainty and worry that has resulted from the lockdown. We will add the materials to our archive and plan to create an exhibition in the future.
