Warley Woods, managed by Warley Woods Community Trust, is among 2,000 parks and green spaces that will today receive a prestigious Green Flag Award.  This international award, now into its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.

We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for the twelfth year running from Keep Britain Tidy. This Award recognises and highlights that local people are benefiting from a green space of the very highest quality.  The Community Trust has been managing the site for 16 years now and its staff and volunteers are very proud of its track record of high standards.  Thank you to everyone who helps us achieve this, whether as a volunteer, or a financial supporter.

Keep Britain Tidy Chief Executive Allison Ogden-Newton OBE said: “This year, more than ever, our parks and green spaces have been a lifeline and we know that millions of people have used them to relax, meet friends, exercise or simply escape for a short time.

“It is testament to the incredible dedication and hard work of staff and volunteers that, despite the challenges that went along with record numbers of visitors, Warley Woods Community Trust has achieved the highest international standards  demanded by the Green Flag Award.”

If you love your Green Flag Award Winning Park, then why not make a donation to help keep it looking good.  It costs the charity over £8,000 a year just to empty the bins.  If you use them, please play your part and help.
