Wild Warley Conservation Volunteer Sessions - Conservation - Community

It's fantastic that you want to get involved in making Warley Woods a little Wilder!

In these sessions, we will work to enhance and restore a portion of the woodland. Firstly we will be removing non-native undesirable species that block out all of the light and regeneration in the area (Winter).  Then we will be underplanting these areas with native tree species and trying to reintroduce native ground flora (Winter/Spring), which will make it more aesthetically pleasing and increase the diversity and provide foraging for early pollinators. We also have ongoing work in the Wilderness (pictured) where we are removing willow scrub that would eventually dominate the area if left unchecked. 

In the Summer months, we will turn our attention to Meadow management and creation.
